Though Rajmohan has ensured that he deliver something out-of-the-box, the cliched climax and few predictable sequence mars the flow.
However something is missing in this film with its non-happening story and pace.
While the film’s plot and characters offer nothing new, the naturalness of the romance and the new cast do make the film stand apart a little from similar romances.

‘Guru En Aalu’ is a more dramatized version of a simple theme, which fails to stick to our hearts.
Outrageous comedy of Vivek is the films biggest calling card, otherwise it is just a routine film.
The loud and crude comedy drags the movie down so much that the light romance, which has its moments, is unable to salvage it.

It’s a very watchable film with a heart. So go ahead, make your matinee, Ayan is never-a-dull moment action entertainer.
No doubt, ‘Ayan’ is one more in the kitty of successful movies being belted out by Sun Pictures.
If anything, it’s the screenplay that could have been trimmed. The twists come so hard and fast that they lose momentum at certain points. But in a movie with Suriya, reasonable logic, neat characters and cool songs, who’s going to notice that?
Ayan is definitely a must-watch.
