On the whole it is just ok, though the second half tends to drag a bit.
This family entertainer, ‘Dindigul Sarathy’ is surely worth a watch.

It looks like the writer director has run out of ideas and is just rehashing his earlier dialogues.
Though the screenplay and script are quick-paced, several sequences sans logic fails to attract attention. But for loyalists of Perarasu, the film will be a celebration.
..But Perarasu’s screenplay, for obvious reasons, rules. Sure, it’s pretty silly with regulation dances and bashes but at least you’re forewarned, and should not expect anything else.

Though the story unfolds in a slow pace towards the climax and there are few scenes which reminds one of watching a soap show, Abhiyum Nanum stands out for it is a quality entertainer which can be watched by the whole family.
Watch Abhiyum Naanum only for the father and daughter pair – Prakash Raj and Trisha, they make the film work to a certain extent.
The film belongs to Prakashraj, who has rendered a stunning performance. Trisha as Abhi is quite competent. Aishwarya and Ganesh Venkatraman have done a good job.
For fathers who love their daughters, this is your pick. Definitely worth a watch.

With loosely etched characters and incoherent script, a sense of déjà vu prevails as one watches the film. But due credit should be given to actor Silambarasan, who does the job entrusted to him well.
With its humbugging story and bash-fest theme, Silambattam appears to have everything lined up for a B and C Centre win. But if you’re a discerning viewer, stay away.
It is a typical mass masala formulaic entertainer with Simbu measured and meticulous performance

With its painstaking characterisation, Bommalattam is inspiring but only in parts.
On the whole, hats off to Bharathiraja for creating a taut thriller which is a masterpiece of moods, anxieties and dread. Quite simply, unmissable.
After watching Bommalattam, Bharathiraja’s bilingual venture, one cannot help being overawed by the excellence of Nana Patekar – easily one of the best actors
India has ever produced.

..Saamida begins in a brisk pace only to end in a predictable manner.
Apart from some decent visuals, the film has nothing really new by way of story or screenplay.

Ravi needs to be patted for coming up with an original script. But had he concentrated on the pace, he could have satisfied everyone.
On the whole, this love story fails to touch your heart. If you’re not very fussy about wanting to watch something smart and original, then give this film a chance, it’s just ok.
Mahesh Saranya Matrum Palar is a love-story that lacks spice.

‘Poo’ is a blossoming tale of rarely expressed emotions. Hats off to the Poo team!
Poo might move slowly at places and not have a crackling climax but the ending fits in very well with the general tone of the story. As far as screenplays and performances go, Sasi has a winner on his hands. Few rural sagas are this refreshing or poetic.
But on the whole the movie is a beautiful, complete, moving experience with a nice message. It is a simple love story, a bittersweet tale of human frailties, a small film with a very big heart. Well acted and directed, the film is watchable as gems like these are hard to find these days.

‘Thenavattu’ is sure to make it big among the B and C centre audiences.
But the culprit clearly is V V Kathir, who’s come up with a half-baked script that manages to destroy even Jeeva’s credibility. This flick is all aruvaal and no brains.

It might be just a feather in Gautam’s hat. As for Surya, it’s an ostrich plume, a justified triumph.
One gets the feeling Goutham could have used all of Suriya’s efforts with a better narration AND with all-round emotions to connect all the incidents in the script which would have made it more interesting.
On the whole, the film is optimistic, fresh and emotionally honest. But how mature are our audiences, is the million dollar question?
It is impossible to talk about or “review” a movie such as Vaaranam Aayiram without turning it into a spoiler. So all we will say is, watch it, be moved, be inspired and be touched that after a long time, someone has made a movie which a is a beautiful blend of reality and fantasy and through both these realms, manages to capture the essence of a human being.
